Where can I get this medical specialty?
Common orthopaedic problems, examinations
During the orthopaedic specialist examination, the diagnosis is made after the mapping of previous locomotor complaints and diseases and the comprehensive physical examination. If necessary, the orthopaedic specialist organizes the necessary locomotor and joint ultrasound examinations, X-rays, which are important for a more accurate diagnosis. In addition to diagnostic tests, infusion therapy to relieve acute pain in the disc herniation is also available at Swiss Premium Medical Centers.
Low back pain, lumbago
Frequent lower back pain is often caused by inadequate posture and working conditions (sitting work). Low back tension, cartilage wear and disc herniation can also cause low back pain. Once the cause of the pain has been investigated, a number of therapeutic solutions can help the patient’s pain.
Tennis elbow
Painful inflammation of the tension muscles of the palms of the hands and elbows is called tennis elbows. Usually overloading the forearm causes the problem. The first symptom is severe pain on the outside of the forearm when bending the hand or elbow. This can be to such an extent that holding a glass is also a problem. During treatment, inflammation is reduced by various methods (e.g. hyaluronic acid injection, fixation, cooling, etc.). In case of long-term complaints, the treatment usually requires more patience, it often takes a long time, sometimes it can take several months.
Ganglion
The ganglion is a sac filled with jelly-like gelatinous material, which is a tubular protrusion of the joint sheath or tendon sheath, a lesion that can be classified as a benign soft tissue tumour. It is important to emphasize that the ganglion is in almost all cases benign and cannot be a malignant tumour. In most cases, there is no specific cause, but it can develop from arthritis and / or tendonitis, trauma, degenerative (wear and tear) disease. Its primary symptom is a spectacular protrusion, a lump on the palm or wrist or fingers, which is well palpable in the extended position of the limb, often retracting into the joint during bending. It is handled primarily in a conservative manner: topical application of anti-inflammatory cream, wearing a bandage, wrist restraint. It is important to rest the affected limb.
Hip problems
Hip pain is more common in old age, in which case it is usually caused by cartilage wear or arthritis, but there can be a number of other causes. In this case, hyaluronic acid injection, cartilage replacement products and, ultimately, a hip prosthesis may be the solution.
Hip mucositis can also cause pain. The mucous tubes are located at the top of the femur between the femur and the muscle attached to the bone. With proper load, these hoses help the hip joint, femur and muscles move freely and smoothly. However, in case of overload, they can ignite. After the suppression of inflammation, it is worth strengthening the hip joint with physiotherapy exercises, as well as increasing the flexibility and mobility of the joints with stretching exercises
