What does a haematologist do?
A haematologist is a specialist in blood, hematopoietic and lymphatic system disorders.
In case of what problems should we consult a haematologist?
Any problem related to the numerical or dysfunction of a blood cell (white blood cell, red blood cell, platelet). Haematology deals with blood clotting disorders: with bleeding and increased coagulation and a tendency to thrombosis. Recognition and treatment of malignancies such as leukemias and lymphomas are also the responsibility of the haematologist.
Recurrent spontaneous abortions are also often the cause of haematology.
