Allergy consultations and advanced testing in Budapest

Allergic reactions can quietly affect your quality of life, work performance, and ability to get a restful night's sleep. Recurring runny nose, itchy eyes, digestive discomfort, or persistent skin rashes are often caused by an overreaction of the immune system.

At our allergy clinic, we use targeted diagnostic methods to identify the allergens responsible for your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan.

When is immediate medical attention necessary?

If an allergic reaction is accompanied by sudden difficulty breathing, hoarseness, swelling of the tongue or throat, dizziness, a drop in blood pressure, or fainting, call 112 immediately. Anaphylaxis is a life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical treatment.

What should you know before your appointment?

  • Medications: You do not need to stop taking antihistamines before blood-based allergy testing. You may continue your prescribed treatment.
  • Food and hydration: Most allergy blood tests do not require fasting. However, drinking plenty of water before your appointment is recommended.
  • Symptom diary: Consider keeping a record of when your symptoms occur, including the season, your environment, and any foods you consumed before the symptoms appeared.

When should you see an allergist?

Allergic conditions can cause symptoms in many different parts of the body. An allergy evaluation is recommended if you experience any of the following:

  • Respiratory symptoms: Sneezing, watery nasal discharge, nasal congestion, itchy or watery eyes, dry cough, or difficulty breathing that worsens seasonally or in indoor environments.
  • Skin symptoms: Itchy hives (urticaria), patches of eczema, or skin redness, swelling, and scaling at the site of contact with a potential allergen.
  • Digestive symptoms: Bloating, cramping abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, itching in the mouth, or lip swelling after consuming certain foods.
  • Reactions to medications or insect venom: Evaluation of significant localized swelling following previous wasp or bee stings, or skin rashes that develop after taking medications.
