What to know before your appointment

Our examination process is designed to ensure efficient scheduling, accurate documentation, and minimal waiting times. We kindly ask employees and our corporate partners to prepare the following documents and items before attending an appointment:

What should you prepare before your visit?

  • Employer referral form: Please bring the official "Referral for a medical fitness-for-work examination" form, completed and duly signed by your employer's authorized representative.
  • Identification and medical records: Please bring your national ID card, address card, Hungarian health insurance (TAJ) card, and any previous hospital discharge summaries or specialist reports relating to chronic medical conditions.
  • Glasses and contact lenses: If you use corrective eyewear, please bring your glasses or contact lenses, along with your contact lens solution and case, as your visual acuity will be assessed during the examination.

When is an occupational health examination required or recommended?

Fitness-for-work examinations are governed by applicable occupational health and safety regulations. Depending on the circumstances, these examinations may be mandatory or recommended in the following situations:

  • Pre-employment fitness-for-work examination: Before starting a new job, either prior to signing an employment contract or before commencing work.
  • Periodic fitness-for-work examination: Mandatory assessments typically conducted annually or every two years, depending on the occupational risk classification of the position and applicable legal requirements.
  • Special fitness-for-work examination: Following an extended period of incapacity for work (more than 30 days), medical leave, a workplace accident, or a change in health status that may affect an employee's ability to perform their duties.
  • End-of-employment medical examination: Required when leaving certain positions involving exposure to carcinogenic or hazardous substances or elevated levels of occupational exposure.
  • Medical fitness for driving and firearm possession: For obtaining or renewing Group 1 and Group 2 driver's licenses, as well as driving permits required for specific job responsibilities.

Workplace safety and preventive employee healthcare

The role of occupational medicine is to determine whether an employee's health status is suitable for a specific job position and to evaluate whether workplace hazards could cause long-term harm. Ergonomic risks, visual fatigue from display screen equipment, and heavy physical strain all require targeted medical screening.

At our clinic, occupational physicians not only issue official fitness-for-duty certifications based on examination results, but also provide actionable lifestyle and workplace health guidance. If an examination uncovers a hidden medical issue, targeted evaluations can be initiated immediately through our network of medical specialists.

Safeguard your employees' health and ensure regulatory compliance for your business with the support of our experienced physicians. Choose the fast, reliable occupational health services across our modern health centers.

Frequently asked questions

The most common questions regarding occupational health examinations and regulatory compliance.

The frequency of periodic examinations is determined by workplace hazards and statutory regulations. Typically, reassessments take place annually; however, for certain low-risk roles (such as administrative positions) or based on age, the required interval may vary according to the employer's risk assessment policy.

A properly completed and officially signed employer referral form is a statutory prerequisite for conducting an occupational fitness-for-duty exam, as it specifies the job role and relevant workplace exposures (e.g., display screen equipment work, night shifts, noise exposure). Please make sure to bring this referral form with you to your appointment.

Yes, by prior arrangement, medical fitness evaluations for personal or commercial driver's licenses (Group 1 or Group 2) can be performed in conjunction with the occupational fitness examination for an additional fee.

For workstation- and screen-based positions, in addition to a general physical examination and blood pressure measurement, special emphasis is placed on visual acuity testing (near and distance vision evaluation) and a musculoskeletal assessment of neck and spinal strain.

If the occupational physician detects uncontrolled blood pressure spikes, signs suggestive of diabetes, or impaired vision, they may issue a "Temporarily fit" or "Fit with restrictions" certification while recommending further evaluation. At our clinic, any necessary cardiology, ophthalmology, or diabetology consultations can be arranged on-site promptly.
