Comprehensive breast examination for early detection
Mammography uses low-dose X-rays to generate high-resolution images of breast tissue. During the exam, the breast is compressed for a few seconds, which ensures sharp image resolution while minimizing radiation exposure. Compression lasts only moments and may feel slightly uncomfortable depending on individual sensitivity.
The 3D tomosynthesis technology used at Swiss Clinic reconstructs cross-sectional digital slices from multiple angled projections. Every mammogram is interpreted by a specialized radiologist and complemented by a clinical breast examination and breast ultrasound.
