Coronavirus – important information
Information for foreigners
Restrictions on patient care may affect patients coming to Hungary from COVID-19 infected or high-risk areas, particularly China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, and Germany’s Heinsberg district (North Rhine-Westphalia). In the case of “symptomatic patients” coming from an area affected by COVID-19 infection, due to a health emergency, their patient care may be postponed until the laboratory test for COVID-19 is not executed. The procedure (see text in Hungarian) of the National Public Health Center is applicable to those arriving from coronavirus infected and high risk areas.
Based on clinical and epidemiological data, the physician (general practitioner, doctor) and/or public health authority may decide to initiate a laboratory test for the new coronavirus in case of a patient has respiratory symptoms, even if the patient has not recently been to the infected areas. If the above mentioned conditions apply, territories under high risk must be also taken into account. These areas are currently France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany (whole territory).
